You have stumbled onto the web page of the Sponsor Group in Oldenborg South Hall at Pomona College. This could use a little explanation if you aren't familiar with the school.

Pomona College is a small liberal arts college ranked fifth among the best in the nation by U.S. News. (We're fifth this year!) It is part of a consortium of four other undergraduate colleges and a graduate university called the Claremont Colleges. This school kicks ass.

Oldenborg is the language dormitory on campus. We are one of the two dorms on campus with air conditioning and the only one with free cable television and private bathrooms. They make for good bragging rights.

A sponsor group is made up of between 12 and 20 Freshman sponsees and two Sophomore sponsors. They are organized by similar interests and act as a sort of family--supporting each other, hanging out together, and engaging in wild anal butt sex orgies.

Now you might be wondering what's wrong with us. Several things really. Maybe it's the environment. I don't think so. I think it's just us. However, I will give you a quick synopsis of the significance of Oldenborg or "The Borg" as it is called on campus. "The Borg" is not a nickname pulled from Star Trek. On the contrary, "The Borg" of Star Trek fame originated from Pomona. One of the writers for the show is a Pomona grad. She also put the magic number "47" in every episode.

There is a myriad of other interesting things about us… but I forgot what they were.

The sagehen, Pomona's mascot, is an extinct desert bird whose defense mechanism is to fall over and act dead. Jon's mascot in high school was a seagull. He didn't think he could make a step-down from that, but he was wrong.
